SBSA253 is the Japanese domestic reference and features a bilingual Japanese and English day display. Its corresponding international reference is SRPK87K1, commonly marketed as SRPK87.

SNXS Heritage for Everyday Carry
The SNXS Series is based on the compact sports watches that made the original SNXS design popular around the world. SEIKO developed the modern series around the idea of EDC, or Everyday Carry—a dependable personal item designed to remain close at hand throughout the day.
The SBSA253 retains the characteristic flowing case shape of the earlier SNXS watches. Its rounded central profile, downward-curving lugs and unobtrusive crown at four o’clock create a compact shape that sits comfortably on the wrist.
Navy-Blue Dial with an Orange Seconds Hand
The glossy navy-blue dial is paired with a bright orange seconds hand inspired by color combinations found on SEIKO 5 Sports watches from the 1970s. This contrasting seconds hand gives the otherwise restrained design a distinctive sporting accent.
Eleven applied bar indexes add metallic reflections around the dial. The carefully shaped hour and minute hands feature faceted upper surfaces, while LumiBrite on the hands and indexes supports visibility in low-light conditions.
Mechanical Caliber 4R36
The watch is powered by SEIKO Caliber 4R36, a mechanical movement with automatic winding and a manual-winding mechanism. When fully wound, it provides an approximately 41-hour power reserve.
Caliber 4R36 operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, uses 24 jewels and includes a stop-seconds function for precise time setting. Its stated accuracy is +45 to −35 seconds per day when worn on the wrist within the specified temperature range.
Bilingual Day and Date Display
A day and date display is positioned at three o’clock. The Japanese domestic SBSA253 uses a bilingual day wheel that allows the wearer to select either Japanese or English for the day indication.
Compact Stainless-Steel Case
The stainless-steel case measures 37.4 mm in diameter, 44.7 mm from lug to lug and 12.5 mm in thickness. Brushed and polished surfaces emphasize its flowing shape, while the downward-positioned lugs help the watch follow the contour of the wrist.
A curved Hardlex crystal complements the classic profile. The see-through screw case back provides a view of the mechanical movement while helping the watch achieve 10-bar enhanced water resistance for daily use.
Newly Developed Metal Bracelet
The newly developed stainless-steel bracelet balances a reassuring feel with comfortable articulation. Its rounded, three-dimensional links produce alternating highlights and shadows, giving the bracelet a style that is both contemporary and reminiscent of classic SEIKO sports watches.
The bracelet is secured by a push-button three-fold clasp and accommodates wrists up to approximately 205 mm.
