G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary Limited Edition "RECRYSTALLIZED" Series
■Since its launch in 1983, G-SHOCK has pursued toughness and will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2023 with the limited edition "G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary RECRYSTALLIZED" series.
■The original G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C, was released in April 1983.
For this special 40th anniversary model, we developed stainless steel recrystallization and deep hardening technology, which was adopted for the original DW-5000C and its full-metal model, the GMW-B5000.
■The DW-5040PG, a reproduction of the original model, features recrystallization and deep hardening on the screw-back case back, buckle, and band ring.
The case back is black IP-coated, while the buckle and band ring, engraved with a star symbol representing the number "40," are gold IP-coated. In addition, biomass plastic is used for the bezel and band in an effort to reduce environmental impact.
Furthermore, the dial features the words "PROJECT TEAM Tough," the name of the original G-SHOCK development team.
■The case backs of all three models are engraved with the 40th anniversary logo designed by Eric Haze, who also designed the G-SHOCK 25th, 30th, and 35th anniversary logos,
and the bottom left button is engraved with a star mark, completing the design befitting a special model.
