About Aoarashi
Aoarashi, also known as Blue Storm, is a Kyoto-grown Uji Matcha characterized by a refreshing flavor. Its vivid green color, sweet aroma, and mellow umami create an approachable profile for everyday Usucha preparation.
When prepared slightly thinner, Aoarashi develops an especially light and refreshing character. It is suitable for daily matcha, home tea practice, and serving to guests who prefer a clean, easy-to-enjoy bowl of thin tea.
This finely milled Green Tea Powder also pairs well with milk and cream, making it a versatile choice for matcha lattes, desserts, and confectionery.

Preparation Instructions – Usucha
- Sift approximately 1.5g of matcha into a tea bowl.
- Add approximately 70ml of hot water.
- Use water at approximately 75–85°C in winter or 70–80°C in summer.
- First stir slowly to disperse the matcha.
- Whisk briskly with a chasen until a fine layer of foam forms.
- Lift the whisk gently from the center to finish.
Preparation Tips
- Sift the matcha immediately before preparation to reduce clumps.
- Use fresh, soft water for a cleaner taste.
- Allow freshly boiled water to cool before whisking.
- For a lighter and more refreshing bowl, increase the water slightly.
- Adjust the amount of matcha, water, and temperature according to preference.
For Matcha Lattes and Confectionery
Aoarashi pairs naturally with milk and cream. For a smooth matcha latte, sift the powder and blend it with a small amount of warm water before gradually adding milk.
When using Aoarashi in cakes, cookies, creams, or desserts, mix it thoroughly with the dry ingredients or prepare a smooth matcha paste before combining it with the remaining ingredients.
