Description
CASIO G-SHOCK 2100 Series GA-B2100CD-1A7JR
The CASIO G-SHOCK GA-B2100CD-1A7JR is a Charles Darwin Foundation collaboration model inspired by the Galápagos penguin. Its distinctive black-and-white design combines conservation-themed details with the practical performance of the Tough Solar-powered, Bluetooth-enabled GA-B2100 platform.
Galápagos Penguin Collaboration Design
This model takes inspiration from the Galápagos penguin, the only penguin found in tropical waters around the equator. Its black-and-white color scheme reflects the bird’s characteristic appearance, while a stylized penguin motif appears on the indicator hand at the 9 o’clock position and on the band loop.
The dial incorporates a map of the Galápagos Islands and a wave-patterned inset dial. The case back is engraved with the Charles Darwin Foundation logo, while the band carries the Spanish message “Apoyo la conservación de Galápagos,” meaning “I support the conservation of the Galápagos.”
Tough Solar and Bluetooth Smartphone Link
CASIO’s Tough Solar system converts light into electrical energy to power the watch. When fully charged, the watch operates for approximately seven months without further exposure to light during normal use, or approximately 18 months with power saving activated.
Bluetooth connectivity allows the watch to link with a compatible smartphone through the CASIO WATCHES app. Mobile Link functions include automatic time adjustment, simplified watch settings, access to approximately 300 World Time cities, reminders, Time & Place recording and phone finder.
Shock-Resistant Carbon Core Guard Construction
The GA-B2100CD-1A7JR features G-SHOCK shock resistance and a Carbon Core Guard structure. Its case combines carbon-fiber-reinforced resin with bio-based resin, while the band is also made with bio-based resin. The watch measures 48.5 × 45.4 × 11.9 mm and weighs approximately 52 g.
Mineral glass protects the analog-digital display, while Neobrite luminous treatment and separate LED illumination for the dial and digital display support visibility in dark conditions. The watch provides 20 bar water resistance for dependable everyday use.
Practical Everyday Functions
The watch displays World Time for 38 cities across 38 time zones, with Coordinated Universal Time and automatic daylight-saving settings available. It also includes a 24-hour stopwatch with lap and split measurement, a 60-minute countdown timer, five daily alarms, an hourly time signal and a full auto-calendar.
Additional functions include a battery-level indicator, power saving, hand shift, selectable 12- or 24-hour timekeeping, interchangeable month-and-day display order, and weekday display in six languages.
