In 2018, 35 years after the release of the original DW-5000C, the GMW-B5000D was released, featuring a full-metal design and a Connected Engine, based on the concepts of "evolved exterior," "evolved structure," and "evolved module." This full-metal design is based on the DW-5000, the origin of G-SHOCK. The bezel and band are made of hard stainless steel. G-SHOCK's core hollow structure technology has been redesigned to evolve its shock-resistant construction. A fine resin buffer is sandwiched between the metal bezel and the main case, creating a new shock-resistant structure that can withstand even a full-metal case. The band attachment area, which is most susceptible to impact, has been improved, with a relay point located in the center of the center case, reducing impact on the band attachment pipe.
