Description
SEIKO PRESAGE Classic Series SARX125 Automatic Men’s Watch
The SEIKO PRESAGE SARX125 combines a softly colored Araigaki dial with the flowing forms and textile-inspired details of the PRESAGE Classic Series. Its curved, silk-inspired dial is complemented by a stainless steel case and newly developed multi-row bracelet, creating a mechanical watch with a distinctive yet understated Japanese character.
Araigaki, written in Japanese as 洗柿, is a traditional color that SEIKO describes as a washed and bleached persimmon shade. Its pale mixture of peach, salmon and orange tones changes subtly with the surrounding light, allowing the fine dial texture to become more or less prominent according to the viewing angle.

Inspired by Japanese Functional Beauty
The PRESAGE Classic Series draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of “yo no bi,” or beauty found in objects created for practical use. Its colors, materials and textures reference traditional crafts, clothing and everyday items that combine utility with restrained visual elegance.
The SARX125 expresses this concept through softly rounded forms rather than sharply defined or heavily ornamented surfaces. Its curved case, dual-curved crystal and gently domed dial work together to create a warm, tactile appearance.
Araigaki Washed-Persimmon Dial
The official dial color is Araigaki, a traditional Japanese shade inspired by the softened color of washed and bleached persimmon. It is lighter and more subdued than a conventional orange dial, with salmon, peach and pale copper tones appearing under different lighting conditions.
A delicate stamped pattern evokes the woven texture and soft luster of silk fabric. The dial curves gently toward its center, while the upper surfaces of the indexes and the ends of the minute and seconds hands are shaped to follow its rounded profile.
The SARX125 dial is not manufactured from actual silk. Its stamped pattern and finish are designed to express the suppleness and visual depth of a fine silk textile while retaining the durability of a conventional watch dial.
A framed date window is positioned at three o’clock. The “AUTOMATIC 3 DAYS” inscription refers to the approximately three-day power reserve provided by the Caliber 6R55.
Mechanical Caliber 6R55
The SARX125 is powered by SEIKO’s Caliber 6R55, a mechanical movement supporting both automatic winding through wrist motion and manual winding through the crown. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and uses 24 jewels.
When fully wound, the movement provides approximately 72 hours of power reserve. This three-day running time allows the watch to be removed for much of a weekend while retaining enough stored energy to continue operating.
Functions include a date display and a stop-seconds mechanism for more precise time setting. SEIKO states an accuracy range of +25 to −15 seconds per day when the watch is worn on the wrist within the specified temperature range of 5°C to 35°C.
Softly Curved Stainless Steel Case
The stainless steel case measures 40.2 mm across, 46.0 mm from lug to lug and 13.0 mm thick. Its smooth, flowing surfaces coordinate with the curved dial and provide a softer profile than a case built from strongly angular planes.
The case receives SEIKO’s DiaShield treatment, a proprietary surface coating designed to improve resistance to the scratches and marks encountered during normal use.
Dual-Curved Sapphire Crystal
A dual-curved sapphire crystal follows the rounded form of the dial and contributes to the watch’s flowing side profile. An anti-reflective coating is applied to the inner surface to reduce distracting reflections while keeping the coating protected beneath the crystal.
The curvature of the dial, indexes, hands and crystal creates a cohesive design in which each component follows the same gentle contour.
Comfort-Focused Multi-Row Bracelet
The stainless steel bracelet takes inspiration from multi-row watch bracelets commonly seen during the 1970s. Its short, rounded links are designed to articulate smoothly around the wrist while reducing the amount of surface area directly contacting the skin.
The bracelet also receives the protective DiaShield treatment. A push-button butterfly-style deployment clasp maintains a clean appearance when closed, while the 20 mm attachment width balances the proportions of the 40.2 mm case.
See-Through Case Back
The screw case back incorporates a sapphire crystal viewing window, allowing the wearer to observe the Caliber 6R55 and its gold-colored oscillating weight. Because the case back is threaded, the final alignment of its markings may vary between individual watches.
The SARX125 is rated to 10 bar water resistance and has magnetic resistance. It is designed as a refined everyday mechanical watch and is not classified as a diving watch.
Core Shop Exclusive JDM Reference
SARX125 is the Japanese domestic reference and is distributed in Japan through SEIKO Global Brand Core Shops. This designation identifies a specialist retail channel and does not indicate a numbered or time-limited production run.
The corresponding international reference is SPB467J1, commonly marketed as SPB467. Because the same Araigaki Classic Series design is available internationally, SARX125 should be described as a JDM reference rather than a Japan-exclusive design.
