The SEIKO PRESAGE SARX121 brings the understated beauty of traditional Japanese textiles to a contemporary mechanical watch. Part of the PRESAGE Classic Series, it features a softly curved Shiro-iro dial, a stainless steel case and a newly developed multi-row bracelet designed to conform comfortably to the wrist.
Shiro-iro, written in Japanese as 素色, describes the natural off-white color associated with undyed silk. The dial is not made from silk; instead, its delicate stamped texture and gentle luster are inspired by the appearance and suppleness of finely woven silk fabric.

Japanese Functional Beauty
The PRESAGE Classic Series draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of “yo no bi,” or beauty that develops through an object’s practical use. Its forms, colors and textures reference traditional Japanese crafts, clothing and everyday objects designed to combine usefulness with understated elegance.
The SARX121 expresses this concept through soft curves rather than sharply defined surfaces. Its rounded case, dual-curved crystal and gently domed dial work together to create a balanced profile that changes subtly as light moves across the watch.
Shiro-iro Silk-Inspired Dial
The dial color is officially identified as Shiro-iro, a traditional Japanese term for the natural off-white color of undyed silk. This warm neutral shade is softer than a bright conventional white and complements the polished indexes, hands and stainless steel exterior.
A delicate stamped pattern recreates the visual texture of fine silk weave. The dial is gently curved toward its center, and the upper surfaces of the indexes and the tips of the minute and seconds hands are shaped to follow its rounded form.
The watch uses a traditional three-hand display with a date window at three o’clock. “AUTOMATIC 3 DAYS” appears on the dial to identify the approximately three-day power reserve of the Caliber 6R55.
Mechanical Caliber 6R55
The SARX121 is powered by SEIKO’s Caliber 6R55, a mechanical movement with both automatic and manual winding. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, uses 24 jewels and provides approximately 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The three-day reserve allows the fully wound watch to be removed for much of a weekend and remain running when worn again. Additional functions include a date display and a stop-seconds mechanism for more precise time setting.
SEIKO states an accuracy range of +25 to −15 seconds per day when the watch is worn on the wrist within the specified temperature range of 5°C to 35°C.
Curved Case and Dual-Curved Sapphire Crystal
The stainless steel case measures 40.2 mm across, 46.0 mm from lug to lug and 13.0 mm thick. Its flowing surfaces coordinate with the curved dial and dual-curved sapphire crystal, giving the watch a softer and more traditional appearance.
The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface to reduce distracting reflections while preserving the exterior surface of the crystal. The stainless steel case is treated with DiaShield, SEIKO’s proprietary surface coating designed to improve resistance to everyday scratches.
Comfort-Focused Multi-Row Bracelet
The multi-row stainless steel bracelet takes design inspiration from bracelets commonly used during the 1970s. Its short, rounded links are shaped to move smoothly around the wrist while reducing the contact area against the skin.
The bracelet is protected by DiaShield and secured by a push-button butterfly-style deployment clasp. It has a 20 mm attachment width and accommodates a wrist circumference of up to approximately 200 mm.
See-Through Case Back and Everyday Water Resistance
A transparent sapphire crystal section in the screw case back provides a view of the mechanical movement. The watch is rated to 10 bar water resistance, making it suitable for normal daily wear and activities involving regular contact with water. It is not classified as a diving watch.
